Sometimes the most accurately focused pictures do not manage to capture the character and spirit of the subject in the best way... (or, I wish I'd managed to focus the camera better lol)
Prissy has a very light and dainty way about her. The
descriptions of pixie, fairy and sprite always come to mind.

A close-up picture of Tommy makes him look lionesque, but a big view
picture shows how small he is, even if he is tall for a domestic cat.

This is our indoor cat, Penny. I found her starving in a park 14 years ago. The name Penny has never really suited her (we had to come up with a name for the vet), so we usually call her Putty, Fluffy, Lumpy (hernia) and That Cat (as in, look at that cat).
She's a bit of a wierdo. My husband swears that she was dropped on her head before we knew her. She doesn't have cat-like reflexes and coordination; she's much more clutz-like than cat-like. She and I have always gotten along great but she often pretends to hate my husband, although she's come around. I often have to translate for her when she and DH interact. lol

Love the pictures of all your babies. You did great capturing their personalities.
ReplyDeleteHow ironic you have a cat named Prissy. Our first Dachshund my daughter named Prissy. She's up on the hill with our 2nd one, Schatzee who passed away last summer.
Notonly does Prissy look (and move) like Fiona, and Tommy look like James, the first cat I had as an adult was named Penny! (She didn't look like yours, though.) The was originally named Peaches (though she wasn't orange) and I didn't like the name, and at the time I didn't know how smart she was, so I thought I'd better pick a similar sounding name. Pebelope did fit her, though. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your kitty pictures, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAll of these friends are fabulous!Wonderful post!
ReplyDeletepurrs, love and Happy Camera Critters
Luna
Love the second shot of Prissy where the sun is hitting just under her chin. I so love her coloring and facial expression.
ReplyDeletePenny is one furry little beauty!
Nice shots!
Carletta’s Captures.
What cuties! Tommy looks a little like our Tarzan. I don't think Penny looks weird at all...I think she knows she's got a good thing going here. Funny, our indoor cat Toby actually prefers men--he likes to sit on my husband's lap and help him do the crossword:)
ReplyDeleteI think I should participate in Camera Critters so that I have some place to go with all the pictures I take of our new cat, Alley Cat. I luv that you rescued Penny. We not only call our cat That Cat, but That Darn Cat! Sounds like your fur balls all have unique personalities, as they should. They are all three so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing us your furbabies. All beautiful kitties!
ReplyDeleteYour first pictures of Prissy are great with the light and the focus! I love how she blends into the gray gravel of your driveway. Sometimes soft focus is best. I love the last portrait of her especially. As for Penny ... What a life!
ReplyDeletesuch dolls all of them Love to see in their habitat like that sandy
ReplyDeleteI love ginger cats! And yours looks as big as mine does.
ReplyDeleteThe picture of Penny reminded me of our lost cat. He used to walk with us (correctly - behind us) even if we went on a long walk. Me with a double stroller and a dog on a leash and a cat behind. Neighbors used to ask "Where is the cat?"if they didn't see him.
ReplyDeleteI love cats, but there are coyotes around here, plus the boys are allergic to cats, so we don't have a cat now. Lucky you!
wow! they are so adorable, but I love more on the last kitty, super cute..
ReplyDeleteAll Individuals of course and believe me, you think you're in charge!!!
ReplyDeleteI've got three.
I had to laugh at your description of Penny. Our youngest cat(at 14!) is very similar in shape and size only he's black. He was a stray that took up with us and we joke all the time that his Mama left him on purpose. I don't recall seeing her pic before - she's pretty!
ReplyDeleteI am in instant love with all 3. They are so sweet looking. I love your little inside rescue baby.
ReplyDeleteSince my husband has terrible allergies I have to enjoy cats from a distance. Yours are adorable and looks precocious and sweet, at the same time!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.

I think strays are the best! They had a hard life before you adopt them...they know!
ReplyDeletesweet kitties.
Your cats are adorable! I can see their personalities in your photos.
ReplyDeleteOne of our cats is klutzy too, and we think maybe she can see better far away than close up. (She sometimes misses when she goes to jump on something close and then turns away in a huff like she never wanted to get up there anyway:) )
Your cats are all so cute. It makes me wish we had one again.
ReplyDeletei love the way they walk and adorable snooze pose.
ReplyDeletesimply beautifully captured shots....lovely!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute kitties! I love pets in the garden.
ReplyDeletePenny is such a lovely creature. Her coloring is perfect. I have a real weakness for long haired cats.
ReplyDeleteTommy reminds me a little of my Toby.
Marnie
Your cats are adorable! So sweet.. and I realy love cats, have one here to.. his name is Moses.. Black and white. Love the story about Penny, she looks so sweet. Have a nice day.. Monica/Moa
ReplyDeleteJust when they are looking cute and we try to capture a great shot...they move...It's so deliberate! Cats are wonderful....Yours are beautiful. gail
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! I like the big view one of Tommy walking on the road.
ReplyDeleteOh Sweet Bay, I love your cats! Prissy looks like a sprite and Tommy is regal, but my heart was stolen by Penny. My cat Hazel is of the same cloth, klutzy, and not too bright, but beautiful like Miss Penny. Her little pink tongue looks like she is air kissing! Mmmmwwwaaahhh! :-)
ReplyDeleteFrances
All three are beautiful kitties. The two outside ones look like they're having fun stalking through your lovely garden.
ReplyDeleteCool pic. I like the cats and tank's for your pic. :)
