A Geranium we found growing wild on our farm, Geranium maculatum.

  1. Love those petals. Quite different form the ones seen commercially. The color is pretty too.

  2. Good Morning Sweet Bay,
I too have that lovely jewel growing on the slopes I keep cut each year. I wait for them to seed before cutting again. So very sweet!

  3. Aw, so sweet. Our local wild geranium (also Geranium maculatum) looks instead like this, with less serrated (for lack of a better word) leaves. Cool how things are different, but the same.

  4. What lovely flowers, it never ceases to amaze me how many different sizes and shapes they grow in.--Randy

  5. I keep pulling these out of my beds and have no idea how they got there. Very sweet, but a bit too prolific here. Don't know why since I grow some other geraniums like pratense.

  6. Isn't that just beautiful and your pictures are great. I just saw about 12 feet of wild bleeding hearts growing in the ditch down from our place. Boy are they pretty!

  8. Hi Sweetbay, such beauty. Like Tina we have these by the many, but unlike Tina I don't have the heart to pull them out, yet. They do have a more round petal and I see they are now going to seed with that cute cranesbill pod. No wonder they are everywhere with the number of pods on the plants. I like them though, they can stay. :-)
