Like the pawpaw, our apple tree likely won't fruit either, as it is the only apple tree we have left. It's never had this many blossoms before though and was really lovely this year. It just finished flowering.
Great shots of your beautiful apple blossoms. I especially liked the ones with blue sky in the background. Right now that's a rarity in these parts. Have you considered planting another apple tree to keep this one company?
Another one will go in this fall. We had two (both planted in '99), but one died last year. The year before that we'd planted two others but they didn't make it, unfortunately. All of the apple trees are/were on dwarf rootstock, which has its advantages and disadvantages, depending on the variety of rootstock. But we did want to be able to reach the apples and prune without a ladder.

DeleteLovely photos! Are you expecting any fruits this year?
ReplyDeleteWe have to get another tree first. We were supposed to have 4, we're down to one.
DeleteGorgeous photos, as always.
