When UPS drivers can't drive

When UPS drivers can't drive, this is what happens to your garden. I am pissed.

ETA: After I posted this I called UPS and two people from the warehouse drove all the way from Goldsboro and fixed the damage with a shovel and hoe and tamper. I was amazed! And actually felt bad about calling them, which is strange.

Here it is!

  1. I'd be angry too! What a mess! I hope you called to complain.

  2. I would be too. What was he doing 'texting'?

    1. He was (needlessly) backing in and drove right off the driveway. Perhaps something had distracted him, I do not know.

  3. FedEx guy ran over and killed our cat in the driveway. I complained and we received a form from their insurance company to claim damages. Email UPS with the photo and see if they offer to pay for repair.

  4. Don't feel bad about reporting him. Looks like he just missed the driveway!

  5. He must have been reading the newspaper while he was driving! ( I once saw a truck driver actually do this, while he was weaving all over the road.) You did the right thing. If you had not called, your garden would still have the dreadful ruts and you would still be fuming over it.

  6. Oh, don't feel bad. You did the right thing. I would have been pissed too. You got some action out of them, which is great!

  7. Annoying. UPS and the USPS routinely cut across my yard on foot en route to the front door and in the process tromp all over my groundcover. I know it doesn't look like much to the non-gardener, but it irks me that they need to take a shortcut. On the bright side, it is nice (and very rare) that someone actually takes responsibility for their actions, so score one for UPS.

  10. It's good to know UPS is conscientious enough to have fixed such a terrible mistake. I would have been mad, too!

  11. Thank you for sharing such a positive story. Today it seems like customer service is nonexistent. I feel better knowing it isn't gone completely.

  12. Well, at least they fixed the damage. I wouldn't feel the least bit bad about calling them.

  13. Cudos for the local Ups that came out and made the effort to fix the damage. If they had to do all that I'm sure the driver will get an earful! NOW THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE
