Raise your hands! I am finding it difficult to work with. More clicks to get everywhere, the pages load slowly, and the edit page is now only half a page. Argh.
My hand is waving furiously in the air! I switched a couple of months ago when they first introduced it, and I had so much trouble creating a post--an ad kept scrolling across the icons for adding photos, etc.--that I switched back. We'll see how it works the next time I try to write a new post; there may be some inappropriate words hurled at my computer:)
I'm with Rose. (the hand in the air) I had to use it for the first time yesterday and I'm not a fan of it either. Some HTML works some doesn't. The preview feature is just terrible. I don't know what was wrong with the old version. I suppose it's like everything else, we will eventually get use to it.
Rose I kept switching back to the old interface too and now that I can't I am not happy about it. I really do find the new interface hard to work with.
I have been using the new interface for quite sometime and am used to it. I wish I was there to help you. When you say the "edit page" is only half a page are you talking about editing a post or are you trying to customize a blog template?
YES!!! I hate this new blogger thing. My edits freeze up so much that I seriously can't write in a fluid line of thought. Sucks. I want the old one back.
Why is there always the idea of constant change, in the name of 'improvement', when often the simple older ways work just fine. This is true in many areas, not just the blogging world. I have a hard time keeping up! By the way, I don't use Blogger, but Squarespace. They have recently come out with a new version. I am not interested in changing, and at least for now I can keep the old version. But I am wondering how long that will last.
I find sometimes, that if I flip from HTML to the usual format, it sometimes clears things up - goodness knows why. It is a real nuisance when something is supposed to be fun, and it become a headache.
I had a boatload of problems initially and switched back to the old format. However, I recently changed by browser to Google Chrome, and most of the problems I was having disappeared. I am a happy camper now.
Sweetbay,
ReplyDeleteI hate it also. Just going and editing pages is hard, to even find them. I liked it the way it was.
Me too Randy. I wonder why Google even went to the trouble to create a system that's not user friendly.
DeleteCan't say anything, my blogger format is still the same.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't noticed a change. When did this happen?
ReplyDeleteNadezda and LR I'm referring to the new bloggers interface that's not optional anymore but mandatory.

ReplyDeleteEditing a post. Is there a way to open it up to a full page?
DeleteIf you just start typing or add in a picture the page should expand to the length of the post.
DeleteThat didn't happen when I was working on a post last night... wonder what I'm doing wrong.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely hate it and sent them an email letting them know. The other interface was fine. I hate it when things that aren't broken get 'fixed'!

ReplyDeleteDitto. I'll be working on a post for a while and then the whole thing seems to crash: I can't preview, I can't save, I can't publish. A real disaster.
DeleteI think I got used to it, but honestly, I am not on blogger often enough :(
ReplyDeleteGuess I switched over early on, and haven't been too bothered by it. I just keep plugging along.
ReplyDeleteps- thanks for turning off word verification...it is a royal pain.
