Blooming Friday ~ Signs of Spring

The very warm temps we've had this week (85 degrees on Wednesday), has tipped the season fulcrum all of the way and spring is full on upon us. The Redbuds are opening up and everything is turning those wonderful various shades of spring green.

Nothing says spring like daffodils and crocus.

Crocus tommasinianus 'Barr's Purple'

This charming daffodil is a sweetly scented Campernelle.

There are what sounds like hundreds of bees buzzing in the garden, and many species of butterflies fluttering about: Falcate Orangetips, Azures, Sulfurs, Skippers, even a Tiger and a Black Swallowtail yesterday.

Happy Friday, and join Katerina at roses and stuff for more Blooming Fridays and signs of spring from all over the world.

  6. I love Redbud blooms. THere are some in the woods around here but they are not blooming yet. I should get a start off of one and bring it into the yard somewhere. So pretty. It is wonderful to see things coming into bloom again. Have a terrific weekend.

  7. Hope your spring is sweet and long. In Southern California, it feels that we're in the middle of spring already, but a really, really big storm is looming. Great pictures. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us.

  10. Lovely image of the crocuses--I am beginning to appreciate these tiny blooms more and more. We're also in the middle of unusually warm temperatures, and I noticed this morning that several trees are already beginning to leaf out, which has to be at least a month ahead of schedule. Makes you wonder what summer is going to be like.

Enjoyed your walk through the woods on the last post--how nice to have such a lovely woods nearby to walk through every day!
