  1. Sweetbay ~ What wonderful scented blooms you have. I really love your roses especially. I had Hansa many, many years ago. Old Blush is one of my favorites.

  5. You have so wonderful plant and flowers. I would die for having wisteria and azaleas but here (Finland) is too cold for them.

  6. I look forward to the day when my Amsonia is as large as yours! A couple years at least.....

  19. I bet you can't wait until you can smell them and see them all again. It won't be long now. I am going to HAVE to find a spot for a witch hazel. Every spring when I see it blooming so early on so many blogs, I think that but then somehow I forget during the summer. It's so wonderful to have something for the bees these early warm days. Yesterday we were 65 degrees (!!!) so the bees were out here too ~ I took my "over-the-hill" tulips outside for them and they went crazy.
p.s. My pruning post is going to be mostly how bad I am at it. :-(

  24. You just had to do it... bring out all those beautiful blossoms and make us yearn for warmer temps. ;)

We had a day of 62 last week that enticed us to be outside, and although I am anxious about the growing season, I prefer it to take it one step at a time.

    Lovely Witch hazel.

  28. Sweetbay,

These photos bring me closer to spring, such a teaser you are! Not sure which camellia seeds I planted. Makes it more of a mystery.

  29. Wow!So many wonderful scents and beautiful flowers in this posting. I am so jealous of the wisteria blooms. Mine is ten years old or older now and still no blooms. I have tried everything but chopping it down.I so love the pure white Iris. A gorgeous image too.And the Spanish Lavender. Oh my, and the roses. Okay I confess I just want them all. LOL!

  30. The smells of spring! I can't wait! Fragrance is such an important part of the garden experience. Your garden must be a powerful place when it's in bloom, as Mr. Bee would surely agree!

  32. Delicious Sweetbay! Your photographs are joyous too! I love the tree wisteria. I hope you put some strong support or it will become like mine which are moving towards being vines again. Drat! that I did not do it. Beautiful Azaleas! Your place must have a heavenly fragrance in spring. How fun to see a honeybee and know that it is enjoying your Witch Hazel. Wonderful post!
