It's only January 2nd and already I'm starved for color. We have loblolly pines here, and wax myrtle, but this time of year they are rather somber shades of green. Everything else is gray and brown, alternating with stretches of bermudagrass that is the color of straw. We've had several dull dark days in a row. I need green, spring green, and I need sunlight.

Green with some colours around is nice.... My place is still largely red.
ReplyDeleteThis is the time of year to go over photos of greener times, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteIt won't be long before you will be out there sweating in the sun!
ReplyDeleteOh for a little green. I am with you. I have a photo from last summer of lush wet dew laden greenery in my yard, and I go back to that picture over and over at this time of year. Your green, green grass is good medicine too.
ReplyDeleteSweetbay,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you! A field full of toadflax in bloom would be nice wouldn't it? So muddy here the dogs have trashed the floors so bad we placed straw on their path.
Good morning Sweetbay. I like the photo, the touch of color among the blades of grass...love the movement..
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! May you and your family have a wonderful year of good health and many blessings. And thank you for being a part of our 2010.
Morning Sweetbay, yes, a little color is always needed this time of year. love the meadow.
ReplyDeleteI needed to see that too! Thanks! Even tho we're having a milder than normal winter, it's been awhile since I've seen color outside. There is nothing quite like that spring green.
ReplyDeleteHope the sun comes out for you. It's out here today and I feel better already.
ps I hadn't heard about the blackbirds in Arkansas so I googled it after you wrote. That's a LOT of birds to drop from the sky and die. I hope I remember to keep googling to find out the lab results.
Your picture made my day happier! Carla
ReplyDeleteOh, I am with you girl, I need green, colors and sunshine too. I am not a winter person at all. Your picture of green grasses with a touch of lavender is what I crave so much. Looks so good! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteNice photo of "green". The purple flowers make it really interesting. Thank you for sharing your photo.
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm starved for green as well. I have a few pockets left, but I miss that summer lushness....
ReplyDeleteLove the photo! I totally understand where you are coming from. All thoughts of a 'white' garden go out the window this time of year. I simply crave colour! No wonder spring bulbs are such a big hit around here. :)
ReplyDelete'Tis a far, far better scene that mine. Heaps of snow as far as my eyes can see. ;>)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! Perfect!
ReplyDeleteI hear you - it gets so boring looking out at brown and gray all the time.
