This Past June

It's raining and just above freezing. Infinitely better than raining and below freezing but depressing nevertheless. Prince was cold this morning even with his waterproof turnout blanket, so I put another heavy turnout on over that one.

Not a fun day to be outside, but a good day for Christmas baking. I'm making pumpkin bread, gingersnaps and chocolate/ chocolate chip cookies. Most of the baked goods will go to the people that DH works with, but we have to keep some! Good day to take a trip back in time to June to look at the garden too.

  6. Thanks for the summery shots on such a cold frigid day. Hard to believe the gardens ever looked like that, but they did just a few short months ago! The daylilies are sweet and sunny looking, but I love that deep wine monarda.

  10. Now that makes me yearn for something other than rain and being fogged in at 34 degrees!

You photos are always so lovely and daylilies are my favorites... especially the spiders.

Sweetbay, if I don't see you before Christmas ;)... many blessings to you and your family! It has been wonderful to share with you this past year.

  12. The images of your June garden are like a warm summer breeze, perfect to melt the chill of an ice cold morning. The daylilies covered in raindrops are just lovely- it would be hard to choose a favorite! The maroon bee balm makes a nice companion to them.

  13. At this time of year we need pictures to remind us that summer will arrive eventually. Any ray of sunshine is welcome during winter!

  14. I find it almost hard to believe that the garden recovers from winter and back to splendour come Summer.

Some lovely colours in the daylilies but I really like the monarda.

That second daylily photo is incredible. After the holidays I will be eager to start seeing all my plants and flowers again. Lucky for you, they will all appear way earlier than here!
Have a very merry Christmas too.
