I have tasted the berries, and they are delicious. I planted my trees for the birds. Bluebirds especially love them, and I have nesting bluebirds nearby. Maybe they will leave me a handful or two! I have never tasted Pawpaw. The flowers are beautiful!debsgardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15656883577922890561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3944937432345427996.post-3734579342445766972014-04-21T14:18:10.238-04:002014-04-21T14:18:10.238-04:00Spring is such an exciting time in our gardens, fu...Spring is such an exciting time in our gardens, full of the promise of wonderful things to come. I've never tasted serviceberries but once, because I was very curious and my own trees haven't bloomed yet, I ordered some paw paws online from a place in Ohio. Their season is brief and they don't have much of a shelf life. I ordered a few pounds of them and was delighted to finally taste the fabled fruit, brought some to work for friends to try as well. Give it a try! outlawgardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08273973572989510382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3944937432345427996.post-6079430502799211052014-04-21T09:42:16.976-04:002014-04-21T09:42:16.976-04:00I've never gotten to taste the berries. Those trees have just gotten big enough now to have a lot of fruit.

That said, the birds may very well devour them all!sweetbayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06248743114944736346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3944937432345427996.post-33266736038872053772014-04-21T09:10:23.344-04:002014-04-21T09:10:23.344-04:00Terrific photos, as always. I've heard that comment about pawpaw tasting like banana custard, but I've never eaten one myself. I was considering all kinds of trees for my front garden this year. I was thinking of getting a pawpaw, but didn't. So many trees, so little space.Alisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16323262555906240701noreply@blogger.com
